As a MAEVE Des Moines member, you can look forward to:
Connection.
We all know how hard it is to make new friends as adults. Our social calendar includes member meetings and meet-ups, holiday parties, field trips, moms’ and parents’ night out, community service opportunities and events, educational workshops, and so much more! Potential members can attend up to two events before deciding to join.
Support.
In our village, you are not alone. Our members-only Facebook group is an active and private online community for sharing, asking questions, and connecting. We celebrate everyone’s triumphs and help each other get through the not so triumphant moments. We also offer tangible support such as meal trains for member families welcoming a new child or experiencing hardship, and a monthly free-cycle post for members to exchange items.
Play.
Make friends for life—for you and your kids. Our group coordinates everything from age-based gatherings to nature exploration to park playdates and more! Each new member and their child will be matched with an age-based playgroup upon joining. This will help you form connections with the families your child will grow with year after year.
Service.
MAEVE Des Moines coordinates and engages its members in volunteer opportunities and fundraising initiatives impacting the metro area. With quarterly service projects and monthly volunteer opportunities for adults and kids alike, we actively demonstrate the impact our kids can have in helping their community.
